Founded in 1938, the Moorten Botanical Garden features over 3000 varieties of succulents, cacti, yucca, and other plants. (It’s also home to the world’s first Cactarium -a term coined by the Moorten family over 70 years ago.)
Located at the southern end of Palm Canyon Drive, the Moorten Botanical Gardens and Cactarium is a favorite Palm Springs attraction and the enduring legacy of Patricia and Chester "Cactus Slim" Moorten. Both shared a love of the Desert and its beauty, plants and wildlife. Together they explored the surrounding area collecting desert plants and in 1938 created an arboretum.
Today this place is unique, welcoming and you can buy some really great succulents! As a result, the current owner, Clark Moorten, is never at a loss for company: the garden is visited by adventurers and garden aficionados from all over the world. Its a hidden gem!
